Francisco Ivens Brandão

Francisco Ivens

Senior Orthopedic, Neurosurgery Specialist

In late 2015, Francisco moved to the United Kingdom in pursuit of advanced training in companion animal medicine and surgery.

By January 2016, he had become a proud Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS), marking the beginning of an intensive journey in surgical excellence.

During his time in the UK, he collaborated closely with Seers Croft Veterinary Surgery, where he honed his skills in minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopy and thoracoscopy, as well as exotic animal surgery.

In October 2018, he earned the General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (GpCert SAS) from the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS). This was followed by the completion of a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery (PgC SAS) in January 2019 through Harper Adams University, specializing in soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, and neurosurgery.

From July 2019 onward, he became part of the surgical team at Restelo Veterinary Hospital in Lisbon, where he also led referral cases in orthopedics and neurology, solidifying his expertise in complex surgical procedures.

In January 2021, Francisco returned to his roots with renewed enthusiasm and pride, continuing to practice his passion for veterinary medicine and offering dedicated care to every patient entrusted to him.
